Travel Nurse – Pediatric Intensive Care Unit

$85/hr – $3060 weekly

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) team in Valhalla, NY. As an RN in the PICU, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of critically ill children and their families. This is a full-time position offering a competitive weekly salary of £3060.

Responsibilities:

 

– Provide direct nursing care to pediatric patients in the PICU, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being.

– Monitor and assess patients’ conditions, vital signs, and response to treatments, and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate medical staff.

– Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed, following established protocols and best practices.

– Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized patient care plans, including working closely with physicians, surgeons, respiratory therapists, and social workers.

– Educate patients and their families on their health conditions, treatment plans, and self-care techniques, providing emotional support and addressing any questions or concerns.

– Assist with procedures, surgeries, and diagnostic tests, ensuring proper preparation, monitoring, and post-operative care.

– Utilize advanced medical equipment and technology, including ventilators, cardiac monitors, IV pumps, and infusion devices.

– Maintain accurate and thorough medical records, documenting all assessments, interventions, and patient progress.

Requirements:

 

– Valid and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in NY.

– Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) or similar acute care setting.

– BLS and PALS certifications, with a strong knowledge of pediatric resuscitation protocols.

– Solid understanding of critical care nursing principles, including assessment, monitoring, and various therapies.

– Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations, demonstrating excellent critical thinking and decision-making skills.

– Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with patients, families, and a diverse healthcare team.

– Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

– Commitment to continuous learning and professional development, staying up to date with advances in pediatric critical care.
