We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Pediatrics Registered Nurse to join our healthcare team in Sioux Falls, SD. As an integral member of the pediatric unit, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to infants, children, and adolescents.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Patient Care: Provide hands-on nursing care to pediatric patients in accordance with the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
  • Administration of Medication: Accurately administer and document medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians. Monitor patients for any adverse reactions and communicate with the medical team as necessary.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and complete medical records, including patient’s medical history, progress notes, and observations. Ensure compliance with legal, professional, and organizational requirements.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including pediatricians, nurse practitioners, other nurses, and support staff, to provide coordinated and comprehensive care. Communicate effectively with patients and their families to ensure understanding and participation in the care plan.
  • Education and Support: Educate patients and families about their condition, treatment plans, and post-discharge care instructions. Provide emotional support and counseling to patients and their families, fostering a compassionate and comforting environment.
  • Clinical Excellence: Stay updated with current pediatric nursing practices, research, and evidence-based guidelines. Participate in ongoing professional development activities to ensure continuous improvement in the delivery of patient care.

 

Requirements:

  • Possess a valid RN license in the state of South Dakota. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of two years of experience in pediatric nursing. Experience in pediatric acute care or pediatric ICU is highly desirable.
  • Pediatric Skills: Possess a solid understanding of pediatric nursing principles and practices, including growth and development, assessment, and age-appropriate interventions and treatments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Compassion and Empathy: Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate care to pediatric patients and their families, showing empathy and understanding in challenging situations.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to effectively manage patient records, medications, and treatment plans.
  • Critical Thinking: Ability to think critically, problem-solve, and make quick and sound decisions in complex and high-pressure situations.
  • Team Player: Willingness to collaborate and work effectively within a team-oriented environment, promoting a positive and supportive culture.
  • Flexibility: Ability to adapt to changing priorities, work schedules, and patient needs as required in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
