Travel Nurse – Oncology

3x12s – 36hrs  – 7p to 7a

$70/hr – $2520 weekly

As an Oncology RN, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care to individuals undergoing treatment for cancer. This includes assisting with treatment plans, administering medications and chemotherapy, monitoring patients for side effects or complications, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to develop individualized care plans.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for oncology patients.
  2. Administering chemotherapy, medications, and blood products, and monitoring their effects.
  3. Monitoring and managing symptoms and side effects associated with cancer treatments.
  4. Providing emotional support and education to patients and their families.
  5. Assisting with procedures, including bone marrow biopsies and lumbar punctures.
  6. Documenting patient care and maintaining accurate medical records.
  7. Collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement comprehensive care plans.
  8. Assisting in clinical research studies and trials as needed.
  9. Participating in ongoing education and professional development to stay updated on advancements in oncology nursing.
  10. Adhering to all nursing standards and protocols to ensure patient safety and quality of care.

Requirements:

  1. Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New York.
  2. Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in an oncology setting.
  3. BLS and ACLS certifications.
  4. Strong knowledge of oncology nursing principles and practices.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  6. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team environment.
  7. Detail-oriented and able to prioritize tasks effectively.
  8. Demonstrated empathy and compassion towards patients and their families.
  9. Proficient computer skills and ability to navigate electronic medical records systems.
  10. Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required.
