We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Neuro MedSurg team in Hartford, CT. As an integral member of our healthcare facility, you will provide expert care and support to patients with neurological conditions requiring medical-surgical intervention. Your primary responsibilities will include monitoring patient health, administering medications, and providing emotional support to patients and their families. This role requires a strong understanding of neurology and the ability to adapt quickly to changing patient needs.
Responsibilities:
– Assess, implement, and evaluate patient care plans for individuals with neurological conditions requiring medical-surgical intervention
– Monitor patient health, including vital signs, neurological status, and response to medication and treatment
– Administer medications, handle IV infusions, and perform other medical procedures as required
– Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to provide comprehensive care and treatment
– Educate patients and their families about their diagnosis, treatment plan, and self-care techniques
– Document patient information accurately and timely in medical records
– Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families during challenging moments
– Maintain a safe and therapeutic patient care environment
– Stay updated with the latest advancements and best practices in neurology and medical-surgical nursing
Requirements:
– Valid RN license in the state of Connecticut
– Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred, but not required
– Minimum of 2 years of experience in neurology, medical-surgical, or critical care nursing
– Strong clinical skills and knowledge of neurological conditions and their treatment
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
– Ability to multitask and prioritize patient needs in a fast-paced environment
– Flexibility to work in rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as per departmental schedules
– CPR and ACLS certifications (or willingness to obtain these certifications)
