Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Mother Baby Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dedicated healthcare team in Roswell, GA. As a Mother Baby RN, you will provide exceptional care to new mothers and their babies during the crucial postpartum period. Your role will involve monitoring the well-being of both mother and baby, providing support and education, and assisting with basic baby care. A friendly and caring demeanor, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities:
– Provide high-quality, evidence-based care to mothers and babies during the postpartum period.
– Monitor the physical and emotional well-being of both mother and baby, including assessing vital signs, breastfeeding, wound healing, and general well-being.
– Administer medications, as prescribed, and ensure accurate documentation.
– Educate mothers on postpartum care, breastfeeding techniques, infant care, and promote newborn safety.
– Provide emotional support and reassurance to new mothers, as they adjust to motherhood.
– Assist with newborn screenings and tests.
– Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to provide comprehensive care.
– Communicate effectively with families, physicians, and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care.
– Monitor and respond to changes in the mother or baby’s condition and report any concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
– Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
Requirements:
– Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Georgia.
– BSN degree or higher preferred.
– Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as an RN, preferably in a mother baby unit or similar setting.
– Strong knowledge and understanding of postpartum care, newborn care, and breastfeeding techniques.
– Ability to assess and interpret vital signs, monitor newborn health, and identify potential complications.
– Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to provide emotional support and guidance to new mothers.
– Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
– Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
– Basic computer skills and proficiency in electronic health record systems.
