We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in Atlanta, GA. As an integral member of our medical/surgical unit, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care, administering medications, managing patient assessments, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Responsibilities:
– Provide direct patient care in a medical/surgical unit, assessing and monitoring patients’ conditions, and documenting relevant information in a timely manner.
– Administer medications and treatments following established protocols and guidelines.
– Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to create and implement individualized patient care plans.
– Educate patients and their families on various health conditions, treatments, and aftercare instructions.
– Ensure accurate documentation and charting of patient records, including vital signs, medication administration, and interventions.
– Monitor and evaluate patient responses to medications and treatments, adjusting care plans as necessary.
– Coordinate and communicate with other healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes and continuity of care.
– Assist with discharge planning and arrange for appropriate follow-up care as needed.
– Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a safe and clean environment for patients.
– Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
– Valid and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Georgia or a compact licence.
– Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) preferred, but not required.
– Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Medical/Surgical RN.
– Strong knowledge of medical/surgical nursing principles, procedures, and practices.
– Excellent critical thinking, assessment, and problem-solving skills.
– Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
– Ability to multitask, prioritize, and adapt to changing patient needs.
– Proficient in electronic medical record (EMR) systems and other healthcare technology.
– BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred.
– Commitment to providing compassionate and evidence-based patient care.
– Flexibility to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
