Travel Nurse – Medical ICU

3x12s – 36hrs – D/N Rotating

13 weeks

$75/hr – $2700 weekly

Rochester Regional Health is seeking experienced and compassionate Medical ICU Nurses to join our dedicated team at our prestigious medical institution in Rochester, NY. As a Medical ICU Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-level patient care in the intensive care unit, ensuring the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Responsibilities:

 

  1. Provide specialized nursing care to critically ill patients in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU).
  2. Monitor patients’ condition, vital signs, and intravenous lines, and initiate appropriate interventions as needed.
  3. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement comprehensive care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
  4. Administer medications, monitor responses, and effectively manage any adverse reactions.
  5. Utilize advanced life support equipment and techniques, including ventilators, cardiac monitors, and hemodynamic monitoring devices, to provide optimal patient care.
  6. Handle complex procedures, such as central line placements, arterial lines, and mechanical ventilation.
  7. Document patient care accurately and thoroughly using electronic medical records systems.
  8. Educate patients and their families on treatment options, follow-up care, and self-management techniques.
  9. Provide emotional support to patients and their families during stressful times, exhibiting compassion and empathy.
  10. Adhere to all hospital protocols, safety guidelines, and infection control measures to maintain a safe and clean environment.

Requirements:

 

  1. Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New York, or eligible for licensure in NY.
  2. Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  3. Minimum two years of experience working in an ICU or critical care setting.
  4. ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required.
  5. Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  7. Ability to remain calm and work efficiently in high-pressure situations.
  8. Flexibility to work variable shifts, including weekends and holidays.
