We are currently seeking a skilled ICU Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team in Buffalo, NY. As an ICU RN, you will work closely with a diverse team of healthcare professionals to provide high-quality care to critically ill patients in the intensive care unit. Your compassion, critical thinking skills, and ability to stay calm under pressure will be essential in maintaining the well-being of our patients.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess and monitor patient conditions in the ICU, including vital signs, medication administration, and any changes in symptoms.
  • Collaborate with physicians and fellow healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring safe and accurate administration.
  • Perform complex and technical procedures, such as inserting and managing central lines, arterial lines, and endotracheal tubes.
  • Monitor and interpret patient data, such as lab results, EKG readings, and chest X-rays, to identify any changes in patient conditions and report them promptly.
  • Provide emotional support and educate patients and their families on their conditions, treatment plans, and self-care techniques.
  • Assist in the coordination and collaboration of interdisciplinary care, ensuring effective communication and continuity of patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and complete patient records, including nursing assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes.
  • Adhere to established protocols, policies, and procedures in compliance with state, federal, and professional guidelines.
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements and best practices in critical care nursing, participating in continuing education opportunities as required.

Requirements:

  • Must hold a valid and active Registered Nurse license in the state of New York.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in an ICU setting; Critical Care Registered Nurse certification preferred.
  • Excellent clinical assessment and critical thinking skills to make sound judgments in emergency situations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with patients, families, and a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations, maintaining professionalism and providing optimal patient care.
  • Proficient in using technology and electronic medical records systems.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development and a dedication to providing compassionate and evidence-based care.
