We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Emergency Department Registered Nurse to join our dedicated healthcare team at our facility in Buffalo, NY. As an Emergency Department RN, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional patient care in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Your strong clinical skills, ability to make quick decisions, and effective communication skills will be essential in providing high-quality care to patients in need of urgent medical attention.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and comprehensive nursing care to patients in the emergency department, including assessment, triage, treatment, and evaluation.
  • Rapidly and accurately assess patients’ conditions, prioritize care based on urgency, and initiate appropriate interventions.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, following proper dosage and administration guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team, including physicians, specialists, and other nurses, to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
  • Document patient information, nursing observations, and interventions accurately and timely in electronic medical records.
  • Monitor and report changes in patients’ conditions, including vital signs, symptoms, and response to treatment.
  • Educate patients and their families about their medical condition, treatment plans, and post-discharge care instructions.
  • Assist in emergency procedures, such as resuscitation efforts, trauma care, and stabilization of critically ill patients.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and staff, following infection control protocols and safety guidelines.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in emergency nursing practice through continuing education and professional development activities.

Requirements:

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Pennsylvania.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in an emergency department.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure, make quick decisions, and effectively prioritize patient care.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient at using electronic medical records systems.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
  • Knowledge of emergency procedures, trauma care, and Critical Care Nursing.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
