Travel Nurse – Apheresis

5x8s – 40 hours – D/E/N Rotating

13 weeks

$75/hr – $3000/wk

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Apheresis Registered Nurse to join our medical team in Rochester, NY. As an Apheresis RN, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care through the collection and processing of blood products using apheresis procedures. You will work closely with physicians, healthcare professionals, and donors to ensure safe and effective apheresis procedures are carried out.

Responsibilities:

  1. Perform apheresis procedures following established protocols and guidelines.
  2. Assess patients’ medical history, physical condition, and eligibility for apheresis procedures.
  3. Administer medications, IV fluids, and blood products as required during apheresis procedures.
  4. Monitor patients’ vital signs, blood pressure, and oxygen levels throughout the procedure.
  5. Provide emotional support and education to patients, explaining procedures and answering questions.
  6. Ensure the proper handling, labeling, and storage of blood products collected during apheresis procedures.
  7. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including procedure documentation and medication administration.
  8. Collaborate with physicians, healthcare professionals, and quality assurance teams to ensure safe and effective apheresis procedures.
  9. Recognize and respond to any adverse reactions or complications during apheresis procedures.
  10. Adhere to infection control and safety protocols to minimize risks to patients and staff.
  11. Participate in continuous education programs and stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in apheresis techniques and technologies.
  12. Maintain a positive and professional attitude, promoting a supportive and patient-centered environment.

Requirements:

  1. Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New York.
  2. Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in apheresis or critical care setting.
  3. Proficient in apheresis procedures and techniques.
  4. Excellent patient assessment and monitoring skills.
  5. Strong knowledge of infection control practices and aseptic techniques.
  6. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
  7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  8. Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
  9. Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays if required.
  10. Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
