The Medical Technologist will play a crucial role in our healthcare facility, performing various laboratory tests to assist in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases. Working under the supervision of the Laboratory Manager, the Medical Technologist will utilize their expertise in the collection, processing, analysis, and interpretation of laboratory test results. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Perform a wide range of laboratory tests, including but not limited to hematology, immunology, microbiology, clinical chemistry, and blood banking.
  • Follow established protocols and procedures to ensure accurate and timely completion of laboratory tests.
  • Analyze test results, interpret findings, and prepare reports for physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability of test results.
  • Evaluate and troubleshoot any technical or procedural issues that may occur during testing.
  • Ensure compliance with laboratory regulations and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure effective patient care and treatment plans.
  • Stay up-to-date with advancements in laboratory technology and best practices in the field.
  • Train and supervise laboratory assistants and other support staff.
  • Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure accurate test results and patient safety.

Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or a related field.
  • Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT/MLS or equivalent) from a recognized accrediting agency.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a Medical Technologist in a clinical laboratory setting.
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, equipment, and quality control.
  • Proficient in the use of laboratory information systems and other relevant software applications.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cohesive team.
