Job Summary:
We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our team at our skilled nursing facility (SNF) in Shelby, NC. As a CNA, you will provide essential direct patient care to residents, ensuring they receive the highest quality of care in a safe and comfortable environment.
Responsibilities:
– Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding, while promoting their independence and dignity.
– Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse rate, and respiration, to ensure the well-being of residents.
– Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as nurses and doctors, to develop and implement resident care plans and maintain accurate documentation.
– Respond promptly and appropriately to residents’ needs and report any changes in their condition to the nursing staff.
– Assist with transferring and positioning residents, utilizing proper body mechanics to prevent injury to both residents and yourself.
– Assist in transporting residents to appointments, activities, and meals, as necessary.
– Provide emotional support to residents and their families, fostering a positive and supportive environment.
– Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in residents’ rooms and common areas, ensuring a safe and homely environment.
– Adhere to all relevant healthcare regulations, policies, and procedures, ensuring the highest standards of care and ethics.
Requirements:
– Valid CNA certification in the state of North Carolina
– Previous experience in a healthcare or rehabilitation setting is preferred
– Knowledge of basic medical terminology and infection control principles
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
– Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations
– Physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy objects
– Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
