The role focuses on delivering exceptional patient care in an acute care setting, supporting patients with stroke, spine surgery, seizures, brain tumors, and head injuries.

Key Responsibilities of the RN – Med Surg – Travel

• Provide nursing care to patients with a focus on neuro-medical and surgical cases
• Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as necessary
• Manage titratable drips including Heparin based on PTT
• Coordinate with the charge nurse and house supervisors for optimal patient care
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes
• Participate in unit-specific orientation and continual learning opportunities

Requirements of the RN – Med Surg – Travel

• Active IL license or confirmation of application initiation
• BLS (AHA) and NIHSS certifications
• Experience in level 1 trauma care
• Previous travel experience and experience on a dedicated neuro unit
• Experience with heparin drip titration
