This role requires a dynamic professional with skills in urgent and emergent care. Key Responsibilities of the Emergency Department Registered Nurse

• Connects with patients and families during triage to establish rapport and assess needs.
• Conducts primary and secondary assessments, identifying urgent care priorities and interventions.
• Encourages teamwork to achieve optimal patient outcomes and delegates tasks appropriately.
• Prepares patients for diagnostic procedures and coordinates post-emergency care referrals.
• Communicates effectively, keeping patients and families informed throughout their ED visit.

Requirements of the Emergency Department Registered Nurse

• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and Stroke Certification (AHA or RQI only)
• One-year acute hospital experience as a registered professional nurse
• Two years of experience in the Emergency Department
