Key Responsibilities of the PCU Registered Nurse:

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

  • Monitor and assess patients with complex, acute, and chronic conditions requiring close observation

  • Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments in accordance with physician orders

  • Operate and monitor cardiac telemetry and other advanced monitoring equipment

  • Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes

  • Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge instructions

  • Accurately document patient care in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards

  • Respond effectively to changes in patient condition and emergency situations

Requirements:

  • Active New York Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing

  • Associate or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN preferred)

  • Current BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications required

  • Strong critical thinking and clinical assessment skills

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment

  • Willingness to work 12-hour night shifts
